Science Quiz Competition for Youngsters – 2008
AKN committee, Adelaide region is conducting a Quiz competition for the school children living in South Australia with the help of AMMA (Adelaide & Metropolitan Malayalee Association). This competition for our scholastic children has framed with objectives to bring out the inherent talent latent within them, to develop the presentation skills, disseminate knowledge and to motivate potential students.
The Quiz programme shall be conducted by an expert with professional excellence, in an unbiased and unprejudiced method and the winners will be awarded in the Family Fun day programme which is scheduled for 9th March 2008.
The rules and guidelines of the competition are briefed below:
1. The competition will be held on 24th February, Sunday 2008 in the Cheltenham Community Hall at 4 PM.
2. Three categories of students can participate in the competition.
year 1 to 4
year 5 to 7 - Primary
year 8 to 12 – Secondary.
Prior Registration is required for the Primary as well as Secondary
school students and will be conducted with normal quiz rounds. But
for the year 1-4 category, there will not be separate rounds and
registration will be on the spot on the day of the Quiz competition.
Only individual participation will be allowed in both the categories.
3. The competition is for school children only and no entry fee is invited.
There will be two covetable prizes (first and second places) in each
category. For the year 1-4 children, consolation prizes will be given to everybody who answers question.
The competition will be comprising of 3 major quiz rounds ,viz,
Science, General knowledge and sports; with slides presentations.
The medium of the contest will be English and Malayalam.
Candidates (primary & secondary) may forward their registration to
the following persons on or before 10th February 2008.

Literary Competition for Youngsters – 2007
Prizes were distributed to the winners and all the participants during Onam celebrations of Adelaide Metropolitan Malayalee Association on 1st sept 2007 at Slovenian club hall Adelaide.

The literary contributions presented by our young people shall be judged in an unbiased and unprejudiced method by an eminent writer of AKN Central Committee and the winners will be awarded in a public function in Adelaide in appreciation of their literary skills and style of presentation.
The rules and guidelines of the competition are briefed below:
1. The competition is for children only and no entry fee is invited.
2. There are 2 categories – a) Primary school students
b) High school students
3. Contributions should be unpublished, hard or soft copy of Prose or
Poem either in Malayalam or English, without any topic stipulation
(As long as the topic is non-political, non- religious and non-
Controversial). To make it clear, there will be no separate
competition in these languages.
4. There will be two covetable prizes (first and second places) in each category.
5. The articles should not exceed 3 pages and with a minimum of 1 page.
6. Candidates should clearly mention their name, parent’s names, age, name of school, telephone number, contact email ID and postal address on the contributions forwarded.
7. The deadline for submission is July 31, 2007. The articles received after this date will not be entertained.
8. The articles may be given to any of the following persons.
